How we use your telemetry
We want to inform you that as you play Dead Island 2™ published by DEEP SILVER, a division of PLAION GmbH, the game provides us with anonymous telemetry data throughout Single Player and Co-Op gameplay. This data includes information about your gameplay patterns, your choices in the game, and your interactions with the game environment. This telemetry is crucial to improve the game, fix bugs and overall helps us to understand how you play the game and where you are experiencing issues and difficulties. We do not share this data with third parties or use it for any other purpose without your consent.
Here are couple examples of how we use telemetry for troubleshooting purposes:
- Data regarding obtaining and finishing trophies and achievements let us gather data regarding wrong delivery of entitlements and their relationship to objectives and gameplay mechanics
- Events related to buying and selling items at in-game Vendors can be used for tracking intended progression or the player and engagement with aspirational purchases as well as proper loading of each offered items and ingredients
- Crashes and heartbeat telemetry provides game stability information stream on a macroscale
- Connectivity and Matchmaking related events provide information for bugs on networking side of code
In-game player additionally has a choice to allow telemetry to be used for marketing purposes, which we use to influence our strategies.
